Tasting notes
Tulip / Sake glass
- Appearance
- Brilliantly clear, nearly water-white, no haze.
- Aroma
- Moderate. Cooked rice, a bit boozy. Not sweet or fruity.
- Palate
- Alcohol first, then something "brown" and roasty, toasted grain. Not very sweet, not super dry, rich. Smooth texture, noticeable tartness, warm but not hot.
- Finish
- Short: the flavor lasts 3–4 seconds, with the alcohol's spiciness lingering a few seconds on the edges of the tongue. Then a long, pleasant aftertaste: not sweet, a little bitter, still ricey (cooked or toasted).
